Kentucky MATHCOUNTS

Kentucky MATHCOUNTS is a middle school mathematics education program serving students in grades six through eight. It is operated by the Kentucky Engineering Foundation, Inc. (KEF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation, in conjunction with the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers. The program’s mission is to build students’ interest and involvement in mathematics and help develop a technically literate population.

A central part of Kentucky MATHCOUNTS is its competition program. Chapter competitions take place across the state, followed by a state competition that brings students together to demonstrate their mathematical problem-solving skills. The site also provides information for coaches, helps participants find their local chapter, and shares details about scholarships, sponsors, and the national MATHCOUNTS program. Students can take part in a T-shirt design contest, while supporters can contribute to the organization.

The program emphasizes both learning and enjoyment, with participants and educators highlighting lively mathematical discussion, memorable experiences, and opportunities for students.
