The Kenya Women Veterinary Association (KWVA) is a pioneering organization established on March 10, 1993, dedicated to empowering women veterinarians across Kenya. With a membership of approximately 144 enthusiastic members, KWVA operates on a voluntary basis, primarily funded by member contributions, consultancies, and support from governmental and non-governmental institutions. The association is committed to a range of vital initiatives including One Health programs, project management, and animal welfare, focusing on significant issues like zoonotic diseases and member well-being.

KWVA plays an active role in public health through its innovative programs aimed at eradicating diseases such as Hydatidosis and rabies, as well as promoting veterinary education and training. Furthermore, the association advocates for gender equality and continuous education among its members. Despite functioning primarily from Monday to Friday, KWVA encourages community involvement, offering opportunities for volunteering and donations to support its impactful work. Through their efforts, KWVA strives to enhance the veterinary profession while uplifting women in the field across Kenya.
