Kenzoku Karate

Karateklubben Kenzoku is a small karate club based in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, offering training in Shinkyokushin, a full-contact style of karate. Its aim is to make martial arts accessible to everyone, with classes held in a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment. The club combines traditional and modern karate, emphasizing discipline, personal development, and physical training.

Kenzoku runs a children’s class on Monday afternoons and adult classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Visitors are welcome, and training is often followed by tea and informal conversation. The club’s sessions take place at RessourceCenter Ydre Nørrebro, where Kenzoku partners with the centre to help create positive communities for children and young people, particularly local youth. The centre also hosts activities from other associations, including sports, homework support, social activities, guidance, and learning programmes. Volunteering is central to the club and its partnership. The name Kenzoku refers to family or close bonds, reflecting the sense of community the club seeks to foster through karate.
