Kereru Kindy is a kindergarten and childcare centre in Whangarei, New Zealand, offering early childhood education for children aged two to five. Licensed for up to 30 children, it maintains small group sizes and brings children of different preschool ages together rather than separating them into classes. This approach helps children, families, and teachers build familiar relationships without the need to transition between classroom groups.

The kindy describes its environment as nurturing, home-like, and supportive of free-range learning. Its qualified, trained early childhood education teachers aim to help children grow as confident, independent problem-solvers, while supporting their friendships, development, and individual progress. Kereru Kindy is licensed by the Ministry of Education and promotes close collaboration with families around each child’s learning and wellbeing.

Eligible children aged three to five may receive 30 hours of free early childhood education. Families can visit the centre at 152 Bank Street in Whangarei and ask about its pick-up service. Kereru Kindy also shares information about its team, daily routines, and learning through its website.
