Kerikeri Preschool

Kerikeri Preschool & Childcare Centre is a licensed early childhood education and care provider in Kerikeri, in New Zealand’s Bay of Islands. The centre welcomes up to 29 children aged three months to six years and aims to create a warm, nurturing, home-away-from-home environment where children and families feel they belong. Its philosophy values respect, cultural diversity, individual strengths and relationships, supporting children to become confident learners at their own pace.

Care and learning are tailored to age and development. The nursery offers babies a small, homely space and primary caregiving, with an individual teacher attending to each child’s needs. In preschool, inquiry-based learning encourages children to explore, ask questions and make discoveries, with teachers extending their ideas. The centre also runs a weekly Forest School programme for a group of children, featuring outdoor walks and activities that foster confidence, independence and problem-solving. Through its association with Little Dippers Swim School, preschoolers take part in swimming lessons focused on water confidence, safety and foundational swimming skills.
