Kerk in Nood

Kerk in Nood, also known internationally as Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), is a Dutch charitable organisation supporting Christians facing persecution, oppression or pastoral hardship around the world. Its mission is to help keep the faith alive by informing the public, encouraging prayer and mobilising practical support. The organisation highlights the experiences and needs of Christian communities through news, reports, in-depth articles, radio contributions and public events.

Supporters can contribute through online and recurring donations, project funding and legacy gifts, or by requesting a Mass intention. Prayer is also central to its work, with opportunities to join an online chapel and access a free prayer calendar. Kerk in Nood invites churches and individuals to take action on behalf of people in need and those serving their communities, including priests, religious and laypeople.

Its web store offers products, with proceeds supporting the organisation’s projects. The Dutch organisation also shares updates through its newsletters, including Echo van Liefde, which features news, stories and background on Christians in need and the work supporters make possible
