Kernow Lighthouse is a swim school based in the heart of Cornwall, offering tailored swimming lessons for children aged four and over with disabilities, special educational needs and neurodivergence. Its experienced coaches create a welcoming, accessible environment where children can feel safe, heard and supported as they build confidence and develop water skills.

Lessons are delivered in small groups of one to four learners, as well as through individual coaching, with sessions adapted to each child’s needs, interests and pace. Coaches use a creative, flexible approach, activities and specialist equipment to help learners engage and progress. Classes take place in a warm pool and are designed to be calm, attentive and enjoyable. The team includes trained lifeguards, and coaches have first-aid and EpiPen training.

Kernow Lighthouse works with children with a range of physical and learning disabilities and neurodivergence, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and PDA. The school also offers sessions for schools and groups. Donations and sponsorship help support its mission and keep personalised lessons as accessible as possible.
