De Kern van Cambuur (KVC) is a supporters’ association at the heart of the Cambuur community, supporting SC Cambuur and its fans since its origins as Vriendenclub Cambuur in 1965. Built on solidarity, volunteering and a shared love of the club, it became the Kern van Cambuur after merging with Supportersclub Cambuur in 2008. Over the years, volunteers helped run hospitality at the former stadium and raised funds through activities such as collecting waste paper, with more than €3 million flowing back to SC Cambuur.
Today, KVC brings supporters together and helps create the distinctive atmosphere at matches. Its activities include organising displays, flags and banners, and producing the supporters’ magazine ’t Hertsje. The association welcomes Cambuur supporters of all ages and advocates for fair, transparent supporter policies at both local and national levels. It also shares club news and statements, celebrates supporters and players, and promotes events. Through its volunteer work, communications and matchday contributions, KVC continues to strengthen the connection between SC Cambuur and its supporters.
