Kerstin Remmel

Kerstin Remmel provides breastfeeding and lactation support for expectant parents and families in the Saarlouis, Saarbrücken, and Merzig areas. She is an internationally certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), breastfeeding specialist, and pediatric and intensive care nurse. Her experience caring for premature and newborn babies since 1992 informs an approach that combines medical knowledge with individual, family-centered guidance.

Services include home visits and one-to-one consultations, as well as breastfeeding preparation courses and an open group where mothers and pregnant women can share experiences and ask questions. Consultations cover a broad range of needs, including preparing to breastfeed, milk supply concerns, engorgement and mastitis, sore nipples, feeding difficulties, and breastfeeding multiples or babies with particular needs. Remmel also advises on relactation, adoptive breastfeeding, combining breastfeeding with work, alternative supplementation, bottle-feeding, introducing solid foods, weaning, and developmental carrying.

Breastfeeding consultations are privately paid services, with fees charged per appointment; some statutory health insurers may provide partial reimbursement in individual cases. Course and group fees are listed separately.
