Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) is a 100% government-owned state corporation established on December 2, 2008. Its primary mandate involves planning, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining high-voltage electricity transmission grids and regional interconnectors, forming the backbone of Kenya's national transmission infrastructure. KETRACO aims to enhance the quality, reliability, and affordability of electricity supply across the country, facilitating power trade for sustainable socio-economic development.

With a transmission network of approximately 6,294 kilometers, including 400kV, 220kV, and 132kV lines, KETRACO continually strives to improve service delivery and expand access to electricity in underserved regions. By developing robust infrastructure and pursuing open access policies, the organization addresses critical transmission challenges while minimizing costs for consumers.
