KEVIN SHAMHART

Kevin Shamhart provides firearms education focused on safety, practical skills, and responsible self-protection. The instructor is an NRA Pistol Instructor and Home Firearm Safety Instructor, as well as an Associate Instructor with the United States Concealed Carry Association. His approach aims to make classes safe, welcoming, and enjoyable while helping students build knowledge and confidence.

Programs include Illinois concealed carry certification and renewal courses taught using an Illinois State-certified curriculum. The initial certification course covers the state’s required training, with information on eligibility for prior-training credit and a live-fire qualification exercise. Renewal instruction is also available. Students can contact the instructor to discuss class requirements, registration, and payment arrangements; advance registration is required, and class size is limited.

For those who are new to firearms or prefer not to shoot, pistol knowledge and safety instruction offers an opportunity to learn how firearms work, observe, or explore shooting in a controlled setting. Students without a handgun can ask about arranging a rental.
