Kogi State Health Insurance Agency

The Kogi State Health Insurance Agency (KGSHIA) is a Kogi State Government agency working to expand access to affordable, quality healthcare across the state’s 21 local government areas. It offers health insurance plans for civil servants, state and local government pensioners, tertiary students, and people in the informal sector, including traders, farmers, and artisans. Individuals, families, and groups can also access coverage through the VITALCHIP plan.

Plans include the Pensioners Contributory Health Insurance Plan, the Tertiary Institutions Social Health Insurance Programme, and VITALCHIP. Listed contributions include ₦15,000 per annum for pensioners and VITALCHIP members, and ₦2,000 per session for students. Members can use more than 200 accredited hospitals, clinics, and specialist centres across Kogi State. The agency also highlights emergency care, student campus clinics, and mental health support.

Enrollment can be completed online, with payment by card, bank transfer, or Paystack; informal sector applicants can also call for assistance. KGSHIA provides hospital-finding tools, plan information, a savings calculator, and support by phone and email.
