Khan’s SUPA IGA Marshall Street store manager, Matt Carey (pictured above at far right), handed out cheques totaling $2,200 last week. Among the donations were: $300 each to the Copper City Men’s Shed and Rotary Club of Cobar (accepted by dual representative Gordon Hill); $500 to Rural Outback Animal Rescue (represented by Jesse Tatnell and Sharon Snelson); $500 to St John’s School (received by Year 6 leaders Sam Cain, Oscar Degn and Rossita Kea with co-principal Stacy Tranter) and $300 for the CWA Cobar branch (which was accepted by their president Colleen Boucher). Another $300 was also donated to the Cobar Little A’s Club. Read More with CSS Only Khan’s IGA presented their Community Chest donations last Thursday morning. Cobar Clay Target Club, Copper City Men’s Shed and the Country Women’s Association all received $500 each. The Cobar Clay Target Club is planning to put the money towards catering for their shoots and new equipment; the Men’s Shed will use the donation to fund ongoing activities within the community; and the Country Women’s Association will take the donation to the committee for discussion over its use.
