KI-SHIN-TAI DOJO is a traditional Japanese martial arts school founded in 1999 in Buckenhof near Erlangen, Germany. Its name reflects the practice of developing energy, mind and body. The dojo teaches Aikido, Karate-Dō and Okinawan Kobudō, alongside Budo classes for children. Training is available for children, young people and adults, with regular classes throughout the year and a free trial week for newcomers. Beginners are welcome at any time.
The school emphasizes traditional instruction, self-defence, fitness, concentration, coordination and respectful interaction rather than competitive sport. Children’s classes introduce movement skills and martial arts techniques in an age-appropriate setting. The dojo also holds seminars with its own and visiting instructors, and advanced students can join annual study trips to Japan. Additional offerings include holiday programmes for children and teenagers, family and community events, and budo-education projects and seminars arranged with partner organizations. Led by Thomas Podzelny, the dojo maintains close ties with Japanese teachers and martial arts organizations, and offers students opportunities to deepen their practice through examinations and specialist events.
