KidPsych

KidPsych is a child-focused psychology service in Christchurch, New Zealand, dedicated to supporting children and young people in a safe, welcoming space where they can express difficult experiences and build the skills to thrive. Its approach recognises that young people may need tailored support to understand their feelings, manage challenges and develop confidence.

KidPsych provides therapy for concerns including excessive worry, anxiety, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, low mood, self-esteem, identity, behavioural and attentional difficulties, and social or relationship challenges. The team also supports children affected by bullying, family changes, grief, abuse, neglect, medical trauma and other adverse experiences. Services include cognitive, learning and comprehensive psychological assessments, including assessments relating to ADHD and autism spectrum disorder.

Parents and caregivers are part of the support process, with guidance and strategies intended to help families navigate challenges together. KidPsych aims to make therapeutic work relevant and age-appropriate, helping young people feel heard, understood and better equipped to move forward.
