Kids Haven protects and cares for vulnerable children - empowering families and communities to protect and care for their children, while offering a safe home to children in crisis who need protection and care in our registered Child and Youth Care Center. Started as a shelter for street children in 1992 when welfare was segregated, the Organization now provides multiple services to families and communities, ensuring the protection and care of all vulnerable children and youth. Kids Haven is a registered Non Profit Organization and Public Benefit Organization. The Center is in Benoni, Ekurhuleni and works primarily in eastern Ekurhuleni but reunifies children throughout South Africa and our neighboring SADC countries.

About Kids Haven
Welcome to Kids Haven, a trusted brand dedicated to the care and protection of vulnerable children in the Ekurhuleni Metro area of Gauteng. At Kids Haven, we strive to reach children in need, especially those without parental care, and provide them with shelter, protection, education, training, and therapy. Our organization has two sites in Benoni, with our center in Cranbourne Avenue accommodating older boys aged 12+ and our houses in Mackenzie Park North providing a nurturing environment for younger children and older girls.
Our journey began in 1992 when Moira Simpson, a qualified social worker, responded to the growing number of children on the streets of Benoni. She established Kids Haven to offer these children a safe space and the opportunity for real healing. Our mission is to ensure positive inclusion for discarded, neglected, and abused children, and our vision is to support their meaningful inclusion in society.
Through pre-care, in-care, and after-care programs, we aim to prevent family breakdown, provide comprehensive care and protection, and support children as they are reintegrated into their families or communities. To sustain our programs, we rely on a combination of grants from the Department of Social Development and donor funding. We also have a charity shop where we sell second-hand goods, with 100% of the proceeds going towards covering the organization's operating costs.
