Kidslanka

Kidslanka is a volunteer-run, apolitical and non-religious association based in Sion, Switzerland, supporting children in the rural Lihiriyagama region of Sri Lanka, about 50 kilometres from Colombo. Its primary aim is to help children from disadvantaged or single-parent families access education and build a brighter future while contributing to the development of their local communities. The association currently supports around 40 children through monthly sponsorships that help cover study-related costs, including school uniforms, supplies and bus passes.

All sponsorship contributions go directly to the children. Donations and fundraising events also support ongoing and occasional initiatives, such as weekly English lessons, building a home for a family in need, providing eyeglasses and arranging activities for children. Its projects have also included school support, nutrition programmes, medical and eyesight checks, educational materials, computers, sports equipment and water filters.

Through sponsorships, donations and community events, Kidslanka connects supporters in Switzerland with practical educational and welfare assistance for children in Sri Lanka
