About KIEP-SKIES
SKIES (Strengthening Kenyan Innovation Eco-System) is a program aimed at enhancing the support infrastructure for Kenyan innovation. Under the Kenya Industry and Entrepreneurship Project (KIEP), funded by the World Bank Group and led by the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry, SKIES works to strengthen the ecosystem by supporting intermediaries like incubators, accelerators, and technology boot camp providers. Beneficiaries of the program are divided into Track 1 (Incubators and Accelerators) and Track 2 (Tech Bootcamp Providers and Rapid Tech Skills Students), with a total of 20 beneficiaries for Track 1 and 16 beneficiaries for Track 2.
The initiative offers performance-based grants, subsidized tuition for tech skills students, and funding opportunities. With a commitment to regional balancing, SKIES aims to represent the diverse landscape of Kenya among its beneficiaries.
