About Killer Whale Museum
Welcome to the Eden Killer Whale Museum in Eden, NSW! As a leading attraction in the area, our brand is dedicated to providing a wealth of information about whales and showcasing their incredible wonders. We offer a range of exhibitions that allow visitors to explore and learn all about whales, including their behavior, feeding habits, and species diversity. Whales, dolphins, and porpoises, collectively known as cetaceans, are the focus of our museum.
We delve into the two main groups of these magnificent creatures: the toothed whales or odontocetes, and the baleen whales or masticates. With over 72 species worldwide, the toothed whales include killer whales, dolphins, and porpoises, while the baleen whales, with 13 species worldwide, filter feed on smaller marine creatures. Australia is home to approximately 44 species of whales, with 35 toothed whales and 9 baleen whales.
Through ongoing studies, our understanding of these species continues to grow and evolve. In addition to our exhibitions, we have a museum shop where you can find unique and educational whale-related items. Whether you want to learn more about these magnificent creatures or simply appreciate their beauty, the Eden Killer Whale Museum is the perfect destination for any whale enthusiast.
