Kimochi, Inc., also known as Kimochi Kai, is a nonprofit senior service agency based in San Francisco's historic Japantown neighborhood. Established in July 1971, Kimochi's mission is to provide culturally-sensitive programs and services for seniors to enhance their quality of life and independence, following the Japanese tradition of care. The word kimochi translates to feelings in Japanese, and the organization embodies this sentiment by expressing respect, gratitude, and love to elders through their services.

Originally started by third generation Japanese Americans (Sansei) assisting the first generation (Issei) in Japantown, Kimochi recognized the language and cultural barriers preventing the Issei from accessing mainstream services. They provided information, government and health benefit assistance, transportation services, and walking escorts to ensure seniors' safety. Over the years, they have expanded their programs, including nutrition, transportation, and social services, with a focus on addressing the evolving needs of the senior population.

Kimochi now operates five sites — four in San Francisco and one in San Mateo. They offer a range of services such as senior center activities, adult day programs, home-delivered meals, caregiver support, and residential care facilities. Kimochi's commitment to preserving the mission and serving the community has led to their growth and continued dedication to helping seniors age with dignity, pride, support, independence, and friendship
