Chayon is a distinguished martial arts brand rooted in the legacy and teachings of Grandmaster Kim Soo. With a remarkable journey that began in his childhood, Grandmaster Kim Soo's passion and dedication to martial arts led him to establish Chayon-Ryu Martial Arts. Starting his training in Korea, Grandmaster Kim Soo quickly excelled and earned his 1st-Degree Black Belt at the age of 13.
Driven by a desire to share the profound benefits of martial arts, he founded various clubs and academies, including the Korean Taekwon Karate Academy in Seoul. After arriving in the United States with only $100 in his pocket, Grandmaster Kim Soo established his inaugural dojang in Houston, TX in 1968. Today, Chayon-Ryu continues to uphold the principles and teachings of its esteemed lineage.
