KinBloom is a South African service that helps families document a child’s early years, from birth to age six. Its app brings together family photos and notes, grandparents’ stories, invited coaches’ reports and, when a preschool joins, teachers’ weekly letters and class pictures. Families can add moments as they happen, with no pressure to contribute every week, and turn them into a yearbook to print or keep as a PDF, alongside a film of the year.
The service also offers daily ideas for activities, weekly meal plans based on a family’s food, and a page for each grandparent, aunt or nanny. Families can connect with invited caregivers and, where available, local groups; preschool friends can arrange play dates when both families agree. Schools can use KinBloom at no extra cost, with features including notices, term calendars and walk-home cards.
KinBloom offers a free 30-day trial without requiring a card. It says children’s information is not sold or shared with advertisers, and that data is encrypted and stored in the European Union under South Africa’s POPIA.
