Kindcentrum Holk is an education and childcare centre in Nijkerk, the Netherlands, offering an integrated approach to children’s development from birth to age 13. Its distinctive model, called “Education in Units,” groups learning around developmental pathways rather than relying solely on age-based classes. The centre aims to tailor education to each child, combining knowledge and practical skills while connecting childcare with classroom learning.
Holk provides primary education, preschool childcare and after-school care. Its integrated pedagogical support is designed to create continuity for children and families across these services. The centre’s approach is grounded in kindness, safety and trust, while encouraging children to become independent, resilient and self-reliant. It also supports wellbeing, involvement, personal growth and responsibility, giving children space to develop their strengths.
Holk describes learning as a connected process led by children’s curiosity and needs. Families can contact the centre to learn about enrolment, arrange an introduction or consult its location guide and information about childcare services. Kindcentrum Holk is part of PCO Gelderse Vallei.
