Kind en Spel

Kind & Spel is a child-focused play therapy practice offering support when children are struggling with emotions, behaviour or experiences they find difficult to express. Challenges may appear as anger, sadness, fear, changes in behaviour, or physical complaints such as headaches and stomach aches. The practice recognises play as a natural language for children and uses it to help them feel comfortable and explore what is troubling them.

The service begins with a free, no-obligation telephone conversation with a parent or caregiver to consider whether play therapy may be suitable. If the family chooses to continue, an intake meeting is held to discuss the child’s needs and agree on goals. Therapy sessions take place weekly and last 45 minutes, with activities adapted to the child’s interests and those goals. These may include creative and sensory materials, toys, role-play and games, within a safe, trusting relationship. After five sessions, parents or caregivers meet with the therapist to review observations and discuss the next steps.
