Kindergruppe Panama e.V. is a parent-led childcare organisation in Munich, founded in September 1986. Supported by the City of Munich and the Bavarian Child Education and Care Act, it provides care for children aged one to three in an age-mixed group. The organisation’s approach values each child as an individual, recognising their strengths and challenges while offering guidance as they learn and grow. Children are encouraged to develop consideration for others and to support one another, with caregivers helping them navigate difficulties and build self-confidence.

As a parent initiative, Kindergruppe Panama also depends on families who share its values and want to contribute to a warm, creative and joyful environment. A four-member board oversees organisation, finances, staffing and the admission of new families. The group invites prospective families to attend its open house and learn about the community. It also recruits educators and childcare assistants, as well as participants for a voluntary social year or federal voluntary service.
