Kinderhaus Lünen is a parent-run early childhood education centre in Lünen, Germany, providing care for children from four months old until they start school. Founded in 1974, it welcomes 76 children across four groups and is open from 7:00 a. m.

to 4:30 p. m. Its approach centres on nature, healthy eating, community and learning through play.

Children explore the centre’s 3,500-square-metre outdoor grounds, vegetable garden and nearby Fuchsbach, and take part in an annual forest week that encourages discovery and respect for the natural environment. The centre also offers themed project weeks, including activities about pets and carnival, as well as shared family and educator outings. Meals are prepared in the on-site kitchen, with seasonal ingredients and predominantly organic products; the menu includes fresh produce and varied lunches and snacks.

As a parent initiative, Kinderhaus Lünen invites families to contribute to daily life through practical tasks, events and planning. Its educators and families work together to support children’s development and foster a strong sense of belonging
