Kinderhilfe

Südtiroler Kinderhilfe Regenbogen is an independent nonprofit association supporting children and young people with cancer and other serious illnesses in South Tyrol, as well as their families. Its roots go back to a children’s cancer support group founded in Innsbruck in 1987; the South Tyrol section became an independent association in 2003. The organization now aims to assist severely ill children and young people who are not receiving help from another association, within the limits of its available resources.

Its support includes travel-cost contributions so parents can visit their children in hospital, assistance for research into serious childhood illnesses, and psychosocial counselling and follow-up care for families. Help continues beyond hospital treatment, including support for those coping with relapses, long-term effects, or bereavement. The association also arranges parent meetings, conversations, rehabilitation stays, and group outings, helping families share experiences and feel less alone. Donations fund this work and are tax-deductible; individuals can also support the organization through Italy’s five-per-thousand tax allocation.
