Kinderhospize pflegen und begleiten Kinder und Jugendliche (bis 18 Jahre) mit lebensverkürzenden Krankheiten. Sie entlasten und unterstützen aber auch ihre Familie, die Eltern sowie die gesunden Geschwister, von der Diagnose bis über den Tod hinaus. Erstes Ziel ist es, die Lebensqualität durch die Linderung der Schmerzen zu verbessern und Isolation zu vermeiden. Das Flamingo Kinderhospiz dient als Ergänzung zu bestehenden Angeboten von Kinderspitälern, Kinderspitex, ambulanten und freiwilligen Diensten. Unser Ziel ist es, einen kinder- und familienfreundlichen Ort mit pädiatrisch palliativ-medizinischer Pflege und interprofessioneller Betreuung für bis zu 8 Kinder sowie der Integration der gesunden Familienmitglieder zu schaffen.
