Hummeltjeshonk is a home-based childcare service in Maashees, run by gastouder Meriam Huijben. Meriam began working as a childminder in November 2008 and has built her work around a passion for caring for young children. Since May 2020, childcare has taken place in a newly built and renovated space in the garden, offering a welcoming indoor play area and additional outdoor space. The setting is designed for children up to four years old, with room to play and enjoy a lively day.

Hummeltjeshonk aims to give children a warm, reassuring home-like foundation, encourage their creativity and development, and help prepare them for the transition to primary school. Meriam’s goal is for each child to have an enjoyable day and return home content and tired from play. Her qualifications include Helpende Zorg en Welzijn Level 2, Goed Gastouderschap, and children’s first aid, alongside certificates in baby signing and infant development. Hummeltjeshonk invites interested families to arrange an informal visit and learn more about its childcare approach and rates.
