Kind und Lebenswelt

Kind und Lebenswelt e.V. is a German nonprofit association working at the intersection of youth services, education, and psychotherapy. Its focus is improving the biological, psychological, and social well-being of children and the people around them, particularly when children have experienced severe psychological stress or trauma. The association promotes a holistic, collaborative approach that brings together professionals, caregivers, and affected individuals, with attention to relationships, development, and each person’s lived experience.

Its services include advice, training, group meetings, and supervision for foster and adoptive parents, as well as individual and team supervision for youth welfare organizations, professional foster families, and counselling services. The association also offers in-house training and continuing education, including its curriculum in educational practice for psychotraumatology and seminars on topics such as trauma-sensitive work in schools, families, and addiction services. In cooperation with the KIKT Academy in Cologne, it provides further training for specialist psychotherapists in psychotraumatology. Kind und Lebenswelt e.V. also collaborates with specialist institutes on education, research, and professional certification.
