Kings County Fiber Festival is a community-centered celebration of handmade fiber arts, bringing together makers, artists, and enthusiasts from across the tri-state area. After more than a decade of building a tradition around natural fibers and craft, the festival is entering a new chapter at La Placita at La Marqueta, located at 116th Street and Park Avenue in East Harlem. The 2026 event has been canceled, and the next festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 9, 2027.
The festival’s marketplace features independent creators, including yarn makers, dyers, clothing designers, and artisans offering handmade goods and accessories. Its program also welcomes knitters, crocheters, quilters, spinners, weavers, and other fiber artists through workshops, demonstrations, presentations, and an immersive fiber art exhibit. Community activities include the festival’s annual hat drive. Vendors can apply to participate, and presenters may submit proposals for in-person or online talks and demonstrations. Kings County Fiber Festival provides a gathering place to explore fiber crafts, learn new techniques, discover artisan work, and connect with the maker community.
