Kino Tapiola is a neighbourhood cinema in Espoo, Finland, welcoming audiences to enjoy films and cultural events in a distinctive historic setting. Opened in 1955, the functionalist building was designed by architect Aarne Ervi and is a protected part of Tapiola’s original garden-city landscape. The cinema presents a changing film programme, with current and forthcoming releases, alongside special screenings and events such as Senior Cinema, Baby Cinema, school screenings and a classics series.
Its cultural programme also includes opera and ballet screenings. Visitors can purchase tickets, series passes and gift tickets, or arrange private screenings, celebrations and meetings in the venue’s event spaces. On screening days, Kino Tapiola’s relaxed, 40-seat wine bar serves wines from small producers, as well as other drinks, coffee, tea and savoury or sweet snacks.
Guests can pre-order refreshments for Friday and Saturday evening films, with interval service available for opera and ballet performances. Located at Mäntyviita 2, the cinema operates from Wednesday to Sunday on screening days
