About Auckland Kindergarten Association
Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) is New Zealand's largest Kindergarten Association, established in 1908 as a charitable trust. With 107 Kindergartens, four KiNZ early learning centres, and five Playgroups, we are proud to provide high-quality early childhood education to over 5,000 tamariki (children) in Auckland each year. At AKA, we value and celebrate the diverse backgrounds of our children, parents, and whānau (extended family), and create safe and enriching learning environments where young children can thrive and become confident learners.
We believe that play is essential for meaningful learning experiences, and our dedicated staff work alongside children to enhance the value of their play. Our teachers introduce new ideas, explore language, and plan for various subjects like mathematics, science, literacy, art, and technology to scaffold children's knowledge and learning strategies.
