About Kalangala Infrastructure Services
Kalangala Infrastructure Services (KIS) is a leading provider of infrastructure services in Uganda. As a utility company operating under a Public Private Partnership (PPP), KIS is dedicated to improving the lives of over 30,000 people on Bugala Island in Lake Victoria. By providing reliable, safe, and affordable services, KIS aims to attract investments, boost businesses, and enhance the livelihoods of the island's population.
KIS offers a range of essential services, including ferry transportation, power supply, water supply, and road maintenance. The company operates two new ferries that provide transportation services between Luuku and Bukakata. The government subsidizes the ferry service, ensuring that users can travel free of charge.
In addition, KIS generates, distributes, and sells electricity throughout Bugala Island, ensuring a reliable power supply for residential and commercial use. The company also operates water supply systems, serving major settlement areas and the Kalangala Town Council. Moreover, KIS is responsible for rehabilitating, expanding, and upgrading the Main Island Road, improving accessibility and connectivity on the island.
With a commitment to integrity, excellence, and customer care, KIS strives to transform Uganda's economic and social landscape. The company places a strong emphasis on human resources, teamwork, and technological advancement to deliver high-quality services to its customers. By investing in infrastructure development, KIS aims to drive economic growth and promote a sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
