Kita Pye is a municipal childcare centre operated by the City of Osnabrück, Germany, serving children from six months to six years. Its approach is summed up by the idea of growing together: children are encouraged to play, explore, ask questions, express emotions, make friends, create, and take part in decisions. The centre views every child as having individual developmental potential and aims to recognise children’s initiatives, support their growth appropriately, and work closely with families during the early years.

The centre offers six groups: four for children aged three to six and two for children aged six months to three. The preschool groups generally operate from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; the younger children’s groups run until 2:30 p.m. Integrative care is available in two preschool groups and may be possible in the younger groups. Extended hours can be requested when there is a justified need, with early starts from 7:00 or 7:30 a.m. and afternoon care until 4:00, 4:30, or 5:00 p.m.
