Kita Bus Berlin is a child-focused mobility service connecting families and childcare settings through planned journeys between agreed pickup points, Kitas and schools. Its service is designed to make everyday travel safer and simpler, with particular attention to children who face marginalisation or have greater mobility and safety needs. Families can check whether a journey may fit the service by providing home and Kita postcodes, without initially sharing contact details.

Journeys combine professional transport partners and drivers with an on-board guardian who accompanies the children. Parents or authorised caregivers receive app notifications at key stages, including boarding and arrival, while handovers follow an agreed process. Child-appropriate restraint systems and planned pickup and arrival windows are part of the service’s safety approach.

Kita Bus currently describes three Berlin service corridors: Schöneberg to Mitte, Kreuzberg to Friedrichshain, and Neukölln through Kreuzberg to Tempelhof. Exact routes and pickup points are confirmed individually with families and Kitas.
