Kittyhawk

Kittyhawk Aerodrome is a general aviation airfield on England’s south coast, near Brighton, Lewes, Eastbourne and the South Downs National Park. It welcomes visiting aircraft, including fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, gyrocopters and flex-wings, and accepts international flights under an arrangement with UK Border Force. Pilots can check runway status, circuit patterns and local weather information, then arrange visits through the aerodrome’s Auto-PPR system. A part-time air-ground radio service is available, and the site provides 100LL avgas and publishes landing fees.

The aerodrome also offers trial flying lessons for local residents through Kittyhawk Flight Academy, giving prospective pilots an opportunity to experience flying with an instructor. Additional facilities and services include a helicopter operation associated with Glyndebourne and a hangar waiting list. Kittyhawk hosts fly-ins and other aviation gatherings, which attract pilots and visitors from across the general aviation community. Set in a scenic part of Sussex, the aerodrome combines practical facilities for pilots with a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and people exploring flight training.
