KitzDrohne Inntal

KitzDrohne Inntal e.V. is a volunteer association dedicated to protecting young wildlife during the mowing season in the Inntal and the southern part of the Rosenheim district in Germany. Using drones equipped with thermal imaging, its team searches agricultural meadows before mowing, helping farmers and hunters secure fields and locate roe deer fawns. The service is offered free of charge, and volunteers carefully retrieve the animals in a way that supports their welfare and helps prevent mowing accidents.

The association also runs an educational project for schools focused on roe deer, farming and the relationship between people and the natural world. Through practical learning, it aims to build knowledge, awareness and empathy among young people. In addition to its core fawn-rescue work, KitzDrohne Inntal provides guidance on where to turn when other wild animals are found injured or weakened, recognising that different species need specialised care. The organisation welcomes new members, active volunteers and donations, and invites landholders to register meadows for searches.
