KiZoKa

KiZoKa (Kinder Zomer Kampen) is a volunteer-run organization that has been creating summer camp experiences for children for more than 65 years. Based around Eindhoven, Veldhoven and nearby communities, it organizes five camp weeks during the school summer holiday for children in Dutch primary school groups 3 through 8. The camps take place at D’n Boschkant camp site in Bakel, where children enjoy outdoor adventures, woodland activities and shared experiences on the grounds.

KiZoKa aims to support children’s personal and social development through friendship, group participation and a welcoming atmosphere. Children are placed in small age-based groups, with attention to helping them connect and feel comfortable. The organization says its enthusiastic volunteers hold a Dutch Certificate of Conduct, and provides information for parents and carers about practical matters such as prices, transport, meals, packing and safety.

KiZoKa also works to keep camp fees accessible so that financial circumstances do not prevent children from taking part.
