About KJM
Knihovna Jiřího Mahena v Brně is the largest public municipal library in Moravia and the second-largest in the Czech Republic. It offers a wide range of services, including an extensive library catalog, educational programs, and events. The library consists of the Central Library, Mahen's Memorial, IN-center, and 34 branches.
Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2021 and 2022, the library is a cherished cultural institution in Brno. Despite ongoing renovations at the Central Library, the library remains open during regular hours, and temporary book return boxes are available inside the library. Visitors can explore various exhibitions, including the Copernicus-Ex libris exhibition, showcasing the works of Mikuláš Koperník, and the Book as an Artwork exhibition, highlighting the transformation of Czech book covers.
