Kreisjägerschaft Segeberg e.V.

Kreisjägerschaft Segeberg e.V. is a regional association representing more than 1,600 hunters across the Bad Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein. Founded in 2000 and affiliated with the Schleswig-Holstein State Hunting Association, it promotes responsible, sustainable hunting, active nature conservation, and a lasting connection between people and the natural environment. Its work spans the year and involves 13 local hunting groups, known as Hegeringe.

The association supports members and the wider community through a range of services and activities. These include shooting practice and training, hunting-dog education and examinations, and specialist tracking teams for locating wounded game. Members also carry out habitat conservation, hedge planting, and coordinated drone searches to protect young wildlife before spring mowing. Education and outreach include youth programs, nature experiences, the Lernort Natur initiative, and a green classroom. The association also maintains hunting traditions through horn-blowing groups and organizes events, meetings, and competitions. For consumers, it provides information about regional game meat.
