The Catholic Children’s Hospital Wilhelmstift is a specialist centre for paediatric and adolescent healthcare in Hamburg and one of northern Germany’s largest children’s hospitals. Founded in 1925, it has 261 inpatient and day-care beds, around 1,000 employees and treats approximately 61,000 patients each year. Its Centre for Child and Adolescent Medicine brings together 11 departments and 22 specialist areas, supporting coordinated care and short pathways between clinical teams.
Wilhelmstift provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency services across a broad range of specialties, including paediatrics, neonatology, intensive care, paediatric surgery, neurology, orthopaedics, dermatology, cardiology, endocrinology, diabetes care, gastroenterology, pulmonology and child and adolescent psychiatry. Additional services include radiology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychosocial support, and specialist clinics such as paediatric urology and urotherapy. The hospital also operates medical care centres and offers family-oriented follow-up through the SeeYou Foundation, as well as education, counselling and support for patients and relatives. Its work is supported by interdisciplinary teams and a focus on creating a healing environment for children and families.
