Klaara is a local car-sharing service in Kuopio, introduced by Scandia Rent Kuopio to complement public transport and help people travel beyond the available routes. Its shared cars offer a practical alternative to owning a vehicle, with the aim of making travel easier, more affordable and more responsible. The service encourages lower-impact mobility and gives users a way to reduce their personal carbon footprint.

To use Klaara, customers download the Japster app, register and verify their identity, then book and pay for a car. The app serves as the key throughout the rental. At the end of the trip, the car must be returned to its pickup point. Klaara says customers pay for the time they use the vehicle rather than ownership costs such as maintenance, taxes, insurance and parking or garage fees. Users are responsible for fuel and parking. Current prices and available vehicles are listed in Japster, and Klaara cars are located at Toriparkki. Around-the-clock phone support is available for assistance.
