Matthias Klausener is a Swiss actor and equestrian professional whose work brings together theatre, horsemanship and therapeutic practice. Born in Basel, he trained at a drama school in Zurich and completed his professional stage qualification. Over many years, he held acting engagements at regional, municipal and state theatres, including venues in Reutlingen, Basel, Bern, Zurich and Meiningen. He has continued to develop his craft through master classes in Basel, Munich and Berlin, and is known for focused character work and a strong physical presence.
Klausener’s connection with horses began in his youth, when he competed in show jumping and eventing. He later pursued dressage and teaching, and earned a diploma in riding therapy as well as a DKtR trainer’s certificate. His experience also includes membership in the Swiss Para Equestrian Team.
Through his Büro für Kultur & Pferde, Klausener offers riding lessons and riding therapy, alongside services and enquiries related to acting and theatre. His approach is described as individual, classical and grounded.
