Klaus Metz

Klaus Metz is a sculptor whose independent artistic practice has been based in an atelier in the Franconian Rhön for more than 30 years. Working in wood, bronze, stone, basalt and ceramics, he creates unique sculptures shaped by close observation, sustained engagement with his subjects and sensitivity to each material. His work includes animal sculptures, female figures and torsos, portraits, sacred art, and landscape and architectural forms.

The sculptures combine a restrained, concentrated presence with organic forms, aiming to express more than outward appearance alone. Metz also makes sacred sculptures and reliefs for churches, chapels and private spaces, bringing together craftsmanship, spiritual intent and an individual approach. His works are held in private collections, museums and public spaces, and can be enquired about and purchased directly from the artist.

Visitors can experience the work in person at the KUNSTraum² atelier gallery in Langenleiten, Bavaria, where they can explore the sculptures in the setting where they are created
