About KY League of Cities
KLC, or the Kentucky League of Cities, is a non-stock, nonprofit membership association that serves over 370 cities and municipal agencies in Kentucky. As a unified front, KLC provides cities, leaders, and employees with a wide range of services to enhance their effectiveness and improve the quality of life within their communities. Their services include legislative advocacy, legal services, community consulting, training and online training, policy development and research, and more.
KLC also offers financing options for cities through their enterprise services. Moreover, their insurance arm, the Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Services, provides insurance coverage to more municipal clients in Kentucky than any other carrier. Founded in 1927, KLC has evolved to meet the changing needs of its members.
They serve as the administrator of several other entities and are governed by an Executive Board of Directors and a larger Board of Directors representing communities of all sizes. KLC is dedicated to working as the unified voice of Kentucky cities, promoting community innovation, effective leadership, and quality governance. They believe in the essential role cities play in shaping the future of the commonwealth and strive to provide exceptional services and products to enhance the functioning and quality of life within communities.
KLC values customer service, credibility, teamwork, continuous learning, and caring and mutual respect in their interactions with members and partners. They are committed to modeling equity, diversity, and inclusivity for staff and member city officials, creating a supportive working environment where all members engage and belong.
