The consortium draws its membership from University Libraries, TVETs, Research institutions, Public/National Libraries and Government or Parastatal special libraries.

About Kenya Libraries & Information Services Consortium
Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) is a collaborative organization established in 2003 to address the rising costs of information resources by enabling collective subscriptions to electronic databases. The consortium's membership includes University Libraries, Research Institutions, and Public/National Libraries across Kenya. KLISC is governed by a Board elected during the annual general meeting, led by Dr. Arnold Mwanzu as the Chairperson, Dr. Wanyenda Chilimo as the Vice Chair, and other esteemed individuals from member institutions.
KLISC offers a range of services, including access to a National Repository, electronic databases, Open Access Publishing, and managing Article Processing Charges (APCs). Additionally, the consortium provides resources for monitoring, evaluation, risk management, and facilitates committees focused on access and information literacy, ICT and innovations, and licensing and negotiations. With a commitment to enhancing library services and information access, KLISC plays a pivotal role in advancing knowledge dissemination in Kenya.
