About Deutscher Orden Ordenswerke
The Wallfahrtskirche "Unserer Lieben Frau im Birnbaum," located in Sielenbach, is a revered pilgrimage site steeped in history and tradition. Established nearly 350 years ago under the inspiration of Philipp Jakob von Kaltenthal, the church serves as a spiritual sanctuary where heaven and earth are believed to converge through the intercession of the Virgin Mary. Dedicated to Mary and her seven sorrows, the church provides solace to many visitors who seek her compassion in times of distress.
Since 1998, the German Order Brothers have resumed caretaking duties of the church, having previously established it. The brothers actively engage in pastoral care for the surrounding communities while also hosting a novitiate house for their province. Regular services and confession opportunities are offered, reinforcing the site's role as a spiritual refuge. Visitors are encouraged to embark on the Kloster-Wanderweg and partake in the timeless experience of divine connection found within this historic and sacred space.
