KLS Support UK

KLS Support UK is a small UK charity representing families affected by Kleine-Levin Syndrome (KLS), a rare disorder marked by recurring episodes of excessive sleep, altered behaviour and reduced awareness. The condition often begins in adolescence, though it can affect younger children and adults. Episodes may last days, weeks or months, interrupting everyday activities such as school, work and self-care. People with KLS may have little or no memory of an episode, while sleep, understanding and behaviour are typically normal between episodes.

The charity provides information and practical, peer-based support for people seeking a diagnosis and those already diagnosed, as well as their families. It can arrange conversations with someone who has experience of KLS and, with mutual consent, connect people with similar experiences. Resources include an information leaflet approved for NHS use, which can be downloaded or requested in print for sharing with GPs, relatives and friends. KLS Support UK also shares news and updates, raises awareness, and holds family events.
