KNAF, the Royal Dutch Motorsport Federation, is the nationally recognized governing body for karting and motorsport in the Netherlands. Recognized by the FIA and NOC*NSF, it represents the sport’s interests and works to make participation accessible, fair, and safe for drivers, officials, organisers, and fans. Its disciplines include karting, circuit racing, rally, autocross, rallycross, road-based motorsport, and virtual racing.
KNAF provides driver and official licensing, licence guidance, information on medical examinations, and resources for people interested in taking part or becoming officials. It publishes sporting regulations and guidelines, and sets and checks requirements for competitors’ personal equipment and vehicles. The federation also licenses karting and motorsport facilities, inspecting them and supporting ongoing safety improvements.
For event organisers, KNAF offers guidance, practical tools, and information on event applications and accreditation. Its website serves as a knowledge centre, with event listings, news, a magazine, and information about talent development through initiatives including KNAF Talent First and the KNAF Academy.
